Amrut Peated Indian Single Malt is a smoky single malt from Amrut in Bangalore, India, made with Scottish peat (around 24ppm phenols) and bottled at 46% ABV. It pairs plenty of peat character with fruit, spice and butterscotch.
Nose: Dry peat, like smoke absorbed by an old leather armchair, with a hint of citrus.
Palate: Molasses-like sweetness at first, then building peat that turns drier and spicier.
Finish: Clean, with butterscotch and vanilla wrapped around the phenols.
