Clydebuilt Scottish Dry Gin comes from Ardgowan Distillery on the Firth of Clyde in Inverkip, Inverclyde, its name inspired by the shipbuilding heritage of the river on which it stands.
The nose combines classic piney juniper with bright citrus, a cooling touch of eucalyptus and light floral notes. On the palate, fresh pine and citrus are joined by subtle marzipan sweetness and warm cinnamon spice, underpinned by locally foraged gorse, wood sorrel, garden mint and sweet woodruff. The finish is dry and peppery, rounded off with a return of sweet marzipan. Serve in a balloon glass with a light tonic and a sprig of mint to complement its foraged botanicals.
Ardgowan Distillery sits on the historic Ardgowan Estate overlooking the Clyde, an area with deep shipbuilding roots that inspired the Clydebuilt name. While best known today for whisky, the distillery's Clydebuilt Gin gave drinkers an early taste of Ardgowan's craft, distilled using botanicals foraged from the surrounding estate.
