Ardnamurchan AD is the core single malt release from the Ardnamurchan Distillery, on the most westerly point of the Scottish mainland. It is made from an equal mix of peated and unpeated malt and matured in ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks, giving a balance of coastal freshness, orchard fruit and soft, drifting smoke. Bottled at 46.8% without chill-filtration or added colour.
Nose: Lemon zest, fresh peel, coastal salinity and dense peat.
Palate: Green apple and pear, creamy vanilla and roasted barley, with herbal, seaweed-like peat and a dry smoky edge.
Finish: Citrus, candied orange and buttery toasted oak, with lingering peat softened by vanilla.
