Arran Amarone Cask Finish Single Malt Scotch Whisky, 70cl

The Arran Amarone Cask Finish is a single malt Scotch whisky distilled and matured at the Lochranza distillery on the Isle of Arran, finished in casks that previously held Amarone — the rich, dry Italian red wine made from partially dried Corvina, Rondinella and Molinara grapes.

Matured first in ex-bourbon casks before finishing in Amarone wine casks, this expression offers elegant notes of cherry, dark chocolate and turkish delight with a hint of cranberry. The nose shows dried fruit character, while the palate delivers mixed fruit and spice — cherries, redcurrants and strawberry — with an oily mouthfeel and a spiced, moderately long finish.

Bottled at 50% ABV, non-chill filtered and naturally coloured, it is a harmonious marriage of Arran's classic island single malt and the intensity of Amarone wine cask maturation.
