Arran Barrel Reserve Single Malt Scotch Whisky, 70cl

Arran Barrel Reserve is the vibrant, fruit-forward heart of the Isle of Arran Distillers' single malt range – a whisky exclusively matured in ex-bourbon barrels at the Lochranza distillery, nestled beneath the peaks of Arran's north coast. It's a fresh, light and approachable single malt that captures the bright, coastal character Arran has become known for since the distillery's founding in 1995.

On the nose, expect a lively burst of citrus and green apple, backed by delicate vanilla and a hint of sea breeze drifting in off the water. The palate is soft and sweet, with warm cinnamon spice, ripe orchard fruit and creamy vanilla mingling against a backdrop of gently charred American oak. The finish is lingering and subtle, striking a fine balance between fruit and spice with a whisper of sweet oak lingering at the end.

Bottled at 43% ABV, natural colour and non-chill filtered, Arran Barrel Reserve has picked up a string of accolades, including Gold at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition 2025 and Silver at the International Wine & Spirit Competition 2024. It's a superbly versatile dram – equally at home neat, over ice, or as the backbone of a whisky cocktail – and a fine introduction to the celebrated island malts of Lochranza distillery.
