Benromach Contrasts: Peat Smoke is a small batch single malt from Benromach's Contrasts range, made with heavily peated barley and matured in first-fill bourbon barrels. It is non-chill-filtered, and the latest batch is peated to 57ppm, an unusually smoky style for Speyside.
Nose: Heavy smoke with vanilla, a hint of citrus peel, apple and white chocolate.
Palate: Smooth, with toasted oak, honey and ripe fruit, moving to butterscotch, marshmallow and lemon sherbet, all with sweet smoke.
Finish: Mouth-coating sweetness with bonfire embers.
