Black Tot Finest Caribbean Rum is a tribute to three centuries of Royal Navy rum tradition, blended by Elixir Distillers from rums sourced across the Caribbean, principally Barbados, Guyana and Jamaica. The brand takes its name from "Black Tot Day" (31 July 1970), the day the Royal Navy ended its centuries-old daily rum ration.
Non-chill filtered, with no added sugar or flavouring, it lets the character of each origin rum shine through. On the nose expect tropical fruit — pineapple and banana — alongside golden syrup, brown sugar and polished oak. The palate opens with butter toffee and banana cream before moving into cinnamon, allspice, baked apple and dark chocolate, finishing on chocolatey mocha fading into roasted banana and aniseed.
Bottled at a robust 46.2% ABV, it's substantial enough to sip neat or over ice, and versatile enough to anchor a Rum Old Fashioned or Dark 'n' Stormy.
