Bollinger Rosé NV Champagne, 75cl
Bollinger Rosé NV Champagne, 75cl
Bollinger Rosé NV Champagne is a non-vintage pink Champagne from the family-owned house of Bollinger. Built on Pinot Noir, with Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier alongside, it gains its colour and a gentle grip from a small addition of still red wine. The result is a serious, food-friendly rosé Champagne with red berry fruit, a hint of spice and a long, lightly tannic finish.
About the producer
Champagne Bollinger was established in 1829 by Jacques Bollinger and remains family owned. The house is based in Aÿ and owns 164 hectares of vineyards in Premier and Grand Cru sites, the majority planted with Pinot Noir, and has made powerful, complex Champagnes ever since.
How it’s made
The blend is roughly 62% Pinot Noir, 24% Chardonnay and 14% Pinot Meunier, with more than 85% of the grapes from Grand and Premier Cru vineyards. Around 5–6% still red wine, from plots in Verzenay or from Aÿ, is blended in for colour and structure. The wine is aged for at least three years before release.
Tasting notes
- Nose: Red currant, cherry and wild strawberry, with a touch of spice.
- Palate: Fine, velvety bubbles and a soft texture, with wild summer berry flavours.
- Finish: Long and lightly tannic from the red wine, ending fresh and mineral.
How to enjoy it
Serve Bollinger Rosé well chilled in a tulip or white wine glass. It makes an elegant aperitif, and its structure stands up to food such as Asian-inspired salmon dishes, or crab and lobster.
