Brooklyn Gin is a small-batch American craft gin made using old-school techniques at Warwick Valley Winery & Distillery in New York State. Fresh citrus peels — Eureka lemon, Persian lime, Key lime, navel orange and kumquat — are hand-cut, and juniper berries hand-cracked, before slow copper pot distillation.
The full botanical bill of 11 includes juniper, lavender, cocoa nibs, coriander, orris root, angelica root and the five citrus peels above. On the nose it's boldly juniper-forward with lime, star anise and fragrant orris. The palate brings a trio of citrus notes complemented by lavender and juniper, with hints of curry spice, and the finish delivers hot coriander seed, black pepper and dry juniper.
A fresh, vibrant, citrus-driven gin well suited to fruit-forward cocktails, a classic Gin & Tonic, or simply on the rocks. Recommended serves include a 50-50 Martini, Gimlet, Bee's Knees or Negroni.
