The Forgotten Casks tells an extraordinary chapter in St Lucia Distillers' history: several barrels were misplaced during reconstruction of the distillery following a devastating fire in 2007, only to be rediscovered years later, perfectly matured and ready for release.
A blend of Coffey and pot still rums aged between six and eleven years in ex-bourbon barrels, then finished for a further six months in oak vats, this rum shows a rich, dark mahogany colour with an intense nose of sweet raisins, cigar tobacco, amber honey and vanilla, followed by grilled tropical fruit, candied walnuts and lingering spice on the palate.
Bottled at 40% ABV, this limited-release Saint Lucia rum offers a genuinely sophisticated sipping experience and a wonderful story to share.
