Cloudy Bay Chardonnay comes from Cloudy Bay Vineyards in the Wairau Valley and Southern Valleys of Marlborough, New Zealand. Hand-picked and whole-bunch pressed, the wine is fermented with wild yeasts in French oak barriques and large cuves, then aged for 11 months with partial malolactic fermentation before blending and bottling.
On the nose, expect white nectarine, pear, citrus and a touch of subtle savoury oak. The palate is vibrant with citrus and ripe apricot and greengage, carrying a mineral drive and mouthwatering concentration built by the barrel ageing.
A beautifully textured New Zealand Chardonnay that pairs well with seafood, caprese salad, soft cow's-milk cheeses, cream sauces, and smoked or chargrilled dishes.
