Cockburn's Special Reserve is a blended Reserve Port from the Douro Valley, Portugal, aged around 4-5 years in oak cask and designed to be enjoyed straight from the bottle without decanting. First created in 1969, the blend delivers character comparable to older ports.
The nose is youthful, with aromas of red cherry, plum and strawberry, while the palate is sweet and smooth with luscious red berry fruit, rounded and full-bodied with a supple mouthfeel, finishing fresh and fruity.
A versatile fortified wine, wonderful as an aperitif or dessert wine, and a natural match for blue cheese, dark chocolate or rich fruit-based desserts.
