Conker Dorset Navy Strength Gin, 70cl

Conker Dorset Navy Strength Gin is an overproof gin from the Dorset coast, bottled at a full 57% ABV. It doubles up on juniper for a bold, piney backbone, then adds the jammy sweetness of Seville orange and dark elderberry. The result is a confident, characterful navy strength gin that stands up to mixers and holds its shape in a strong cocktail.

About the distillery

Conker is an independent craft distillery based in Southbourne, Bournemouth, on the Dorset coast. Founded in 2014, it makes remarkable small-batch spirits on the wild Dorset coast. This gin was originally launched in partnership with the RNLI and raised £55,000 for the lifeboat charity, and it is made in honour of those who have worked and lost their lives at sea.

How it’s made

Distilled in small batches in Dorset, this gin uses a double dose of juniper as its foundation, alongside Seville orange and elderberry. Bottling at 57% ABV gives it the overproof strength that defines the navy strength style, with plenty of flavour carried through the heat.

Tasting notes

• Nose: Bold juniper pine with complex warm spice.
• Palate: Piney juniper and savoury spice, balanced by the herbal sweetness of orange and dark elderberry fruit.
• Finish: Lingering freshness, Seville orange marmalade and a warming heat.

How to enjoy it

Conker Dorset Navy Strength Gin makes a big, flavourful G&T over plenty of ice. The distillery also recommends a Gin Mule, built with lime juice, ginger beer and mint. Its overproof strength means the gin keeps its character even when well diluted.
