Don Q Añejo is a Puerto Rican rum made by the Serrallés family at Destilería Serrallés in Ponce. A dark rum produced using a multiple distillation technique and matured in American oak barrels, it suits sipping neat or over ice.
Nose: Cooked vanilla and light oak, then powdery cocoa and a faint apricot fruitiness.
Palate: Rich and mouth-coating, with dark caramel fudge, sugared pineapple and oaty biscuits, balanced by cinnamon and nutmeg.
Finish: Medium-length and warming, ending in a pepper-driven oak fade with a lingering vanilla custard note.
