Errázuriz Aconcagua Costa Sauvignon Blanc is a dry Chilean white from the Aconcagua Valley, grown on hillsides roughly 12 km from the Pacific Ocean. The cool coastal influence gives a zesty, mineral style of Sauvignon Blanc, with citrus and tropical fruit alongside herbal character. Fermented in stainless steel, it is a crisp, refreshing white.

About the winery

Viña Errázuriz was founded in 1870 by Don Maximiano Errázuriz, who planted the first French grapevines in the Aconcagua Valley, further north than most Chilean vineyards of the time. The winery is still run by the Errázuriz-Chadwick family under Eduardo Chadwick, a sixth-generation family member, and is credited with pioneering Syrah planting in Chile in 1993.

How it’s made

The grapes come from the Manzanar vineyard, on hillsides 100 to 300 metres above sea level, where thin loam over clay and schist soils suit the variety. About 30% of the fruit is whole-cluster pressed for elegance, while the remaining 70% is destemmed, crushed and pressed to preserve acidity. The juice is fermented in stainless steel tanks.

Serve Errázuriz Aconcagua Costa Sauvignon Blanc well chilled in a standard white wine glass. The crisp acidity suits grilled fish and fresh salads, and it works equally well on its own as a chilled aperitif.
