Finders London Dry Gin, 70cl

Finders London Dry Gin is a London Dry gin from Finders, a spirits brand created by the Sloemotion distillery in Malton, North Yorkshire. Bottled at 40% ABV, it keeps to a classic juniper-led style but leans towards citrus, with lime peel, lemongrass, grapefruit and cassia named as its star botanicals. It is a straightforward, versatile bottle for the gin and tonic and for classic cocktails.

About the brand

Finders launched in 2020 as a range of natural-botanical spirits from the team behind the Sloemotion range. The brand describes itself as the spirit of adventure, taking ordinary ingredients and making them extraordinary. The spirits are made at Sloemotion’s eco-friendly distillery in Malton, where energy use is kept low and waste is recycled or re-used, including waste fruit from distilling, which goes into confectionery and preserves.

How it’s made

The London Dry style means the flavour comes entirely from natural botanicals added during distillation. The label lists juniper, coriander, citrus peel and spruce, and the producer’s notes single out lime peel, lemongrass, grapefruit and cassia as the stars. The distillery uses an energy-efficient iStill system, which is part of its approach to making spirits with a lighter environmental footprint.

Tasting notes

• Nose: A piney juniper core.
• Palate: Vibrant lime and grapefruit citrus, with hints of spice.
• Finish: A fragrant lemon finish.

How to enjoy it

Finders London Dry Gin works best where its citrus can show. Serve it long over plenty of ice with a good tonic and a wedge of grapefruit or lime, or use it as the base for a Tom Collins, a Negroni or a Gimlet. It also makes a clean, bright Martini with a twist of lemon peel.
