Freixenet Prosecco DOC, Veneto, Italy, 75cl
Freixenet Prosecco DOC, Veneto, Italy, 75cl
Freixenet Prosecco DOC is a crisp Italian sparkling wine from the Prosecco zone of Veneto, made from Glera and presented in a distinctive cut-glass bottle. Golden straw in colour with lively effervescence, it offers aromas of citrus, apple and flowers and a fresh palate of ripe lemon, green apple and grapefruit. It is a light, approachable Prosecco DOC for aperitifs, parties and relaxed gatherings.
About the brand
Freixenet traces its origins to 1861, when Francesc Sala Farrés founded the family business Casa Sala in Spain. The first Freixenet cava was launched in 1914, and the house went on to become one of the best-known names in sparkling wine. In 2017 it expanded into Italy with its cut-glass bottle, and in 2018 Henkell and Freixenet joined forces.
How it’s made
This Prosecco is made from the Glera grape grown in the Veneto region of Italy. Freixenet describes it as golden straw-coloured with lively effervescence, and as light and fresh on the finish. It carries the Prosecco DOC designation and is best served well chilled.
