Glengoyne 17 Year Old Scottish Oak is part of the distillery's Oak Masters series. The wood didn't have to travel far: it came from just five miles away in Killearn, where it was sustainably sourced. Slow-growing and harder to shape and season than American oak, virgin Scottish oak casks add structure and spice to Glengoyne's famously slow-distilled spirit. Bottled at 51.6% ABV.

• Nose: Heather honey, lime, almond, sweet creamy cereals and stewed pears.
• Palate: Balances fresh fruits, raisin cookies and warming spices.
• Finish: A long, gentle finish draws out vanilla, nut and sweet spice.
