About the distillery
Glenrothes was founded in 1878 by James Stuart & Co. and sits in the Rothes Burn valley on the west side of Rothes, in Speyside. It is owned by Berry Bros & Rudd of London. The distillery runs eighteen washbacks and ten copper stills, and it still has its traditional pagoda roof.
How it’s made
This single malt is matured in sherry casks, which shape its sweet, fruity and lightly spiced style. It carries a twelve-year age statement and is bottled at 40% ABV. The Speyside spirit is made at the Rothes distillery.
