Granbazán Etiqueta Ámbar Albariño 2024 is a single-estate white wine from Rías Baixas in north-west Spain, made entirely from Albariño. It comes from the Finca Tremoedo vineyard in Vilanova de Arousa, close to the Atlantic coast, and shows the fresh, saline style of coastal Albariño with stone fruit, citrus and a creamy texture from time on its lees.

About the producer

Bodegas Granbazán is based in the Salnés Valley, the heart of Rías Baixas, and was founded in 1981. Its aim has always been to put the maximum effort into the quality of its grapes and the care of its vineyards. Etiqueta Ámbar is the estate’s expression of Finca Tremoedo, a vineyard it has worked for more than forty years, with a selection of fruit from its growers.

How it’s made

The Albariño vines are around 35 years old, trained on pergolas in sandy granite soils, and the grapes are harvested by hand. After destemming and a short cold maceration, the juice ferments in temperature-controlled stainless steel at 15–17°C, and the wine rests on its fine lees for eight months before bottling.

Tasting notes

• Nose: Complex yellow and winter fruits such as mirabelle plum, persimmon and loquat, with lime and yuzu zest, brioche and orange blossom.
• Palate: Enveloping and creamy with a polished texture, balanced by vibrant acidity.
• Finish: Long and persistent, with a saline edge.

How to enjoy it

Serve Granbazán Etiqueta Ámbar well chilled, at around 10–12°C, in a medium white wine glass. It is a natural partner for grilled fish, oysters, scallops and shellfish, and it also works well with fresh salads and light seafood pasta.
