Hendrick's Gin is distilled in Girvan, Scotland, by William Grant & Sons using two distinct pot stills — a Bennett still, which steeps botanicals overnight, and a Carter-Head still, which uses gentle vapour infusion. This unusual dual-distillation process, combined with infusions of cucumber and rose petal, has made Hendrick's one of the most distinctive gins in the world since its launch in 1999.
The botanical bill includes classic juniper alongside cubeb berries, elderflower, chamomile, angelica, lemon and orange peel, coriander, yarrow and orris root, finished with the brand's signature cucumber and rose infusions.
On the nose, expect big, creamy aromas with zesty citrus, juniper and rose petal jelly alongside cool cucumber. The palate is astoundingly fresh, with cucumber, juniper, oak, a touch more citrus and vanilla in a creamy, savoury style, leading to a long, refreshing, floral finish.
Serve in a gin and tonic garnished with a thin ribbon of cucumber rather than the usual citrus wedge, to complement the gin's signature character.
