Hendrick's Grand Cabaret Gin, 70cl

Hendrick’s Grand Cabaret is a limited-release Scottish gin from the brand’s Cabinet of Curiosities series. Built on the familiar Hendrick’s style of cucumber and rose, it is infused with stone fruit flavours and sweet herbs, giving a gin that is fruit-forward and softly rounded while still showing juniper. Bottled at 43.4% ABV, it is a distinctive choice for anyone who enjoys contemporary, flavour-led gin.

About the brand

Hendrick’s is a Scottish gin house, with its spirit distilled and bottled in Scotland near Girvan. Master Distiller Lesley Gracie leads the Cabinet of Curiosities series, a run of limited editions that each explore an unusual idea. For this release she drew on early twentieth-century Parisian stone fruit spirits, including eaux de vie, peach schnapps and cherry liqueurs.

How it’s made

Hendrick’s gin is distilled using both a copper pot still and a Carter-Head still. For Grand Cabaret, Lesley added stone fruit and sweet herbs on top of the house cucumber and rose character, with the exact fruit sources kept secret. The result is a cousin to the original rather than a straight copy.

Tasting notes

• Nose: Ripe peach and apricot preserves, with grape and cranberry notes and a touch of juniper behind.
• Palate: Soft and rounded, with dried berries, flower petals, plum stone and more juniper.
• Finish: Medium in length, smooth and balanced, with stone fruit returning at the end.

How to enjoy it

Hendrick’s Grand Cabaret works well in a long gin and tonic over plenty of ice with a cucumber slice. It also suits a French 75, a Spritz Royale with cranberry juice, lime and sparkling wine, or a peach-led Martini. Gentle enough to try neat and chilled.
