Isle of Harris "The Hearach" Single Malt Scotch Whisky, 70cl

The Hearach is the first single malt whisky ever released by the Isle of Harris Distillery, distilled and matured on the remote Isle of Harris in Scotland's Outer Hebrides. Named after the Gaelic word for someone from Harris, this 46% ABV single malt is matured across a combination of ex-bourbon casks, oloroso sherry butts and fino sherry butts, then bottled without chill-filtration and with no added colouring.

The result is a complex, maritime dram that speaks of its island home — drawing inspiration from Harris Tweed and crafted by the hands of the local community that built the distillery.

• Nose: Gentle peat smoke reminiscent of island home fires, toasted maltiness and machair flowers, particularly white clover.
• Palate: Homemade apple sauce, mixed spice and candied ginger unfold alongside vanilla and honeycomb sweetness.
• Finish: Long, with a clotted-cream note and a lasting hint of new leather.
