J. Gow Culverin Orkney White Rum, 70cl

Culverin is an unaged, pure white single rum distilled on Orkney from molasses, fermented for five days using J. Gow's own yeast marque before a single pass through a 2000L pot still with rectification column. It is gently reduced to 50% ABV, giving a rum with real depth despite its clear colour. On the nose it is fruity and green, opening into fresh cotton, marshmallow and green apple on the palate, with a light liquorice note running through to the finish.

Unsweetened and uncoloured, it shows off the character of the still rather than cask ageing, making it a distinctive choice for drinkers who enjoy agricole-style or pot-still white rums. Serve well chilled or over ice, or use it in daiquiris, Ti' Punch and other classic white-rum cocktails.
