Johnnie Walker Double Black is a bolder, smokier expression of the famous Black Label, first released widely in 2011 after a travel retail debut. It leans on more Islay whisky and on heavily charred casks to give extra depth and a layer of peaty smoke, while keeping the smooth character the Johnnie Walker blends are known for.
Nose: Light and oily, with dry oak, honey and a gentle stony smoke.
Palate: Fuller-bodied than the nose suggests, moving from sweet smoke and floral honey to stone, tar and bonfire notes.
Finish: Medium in length, with soft smoke, woody spice and charred oak.
Region: Scotland ABV: 40% Volume: 70cl Casks: Includes heavily charred casks and a higher proportion of Islay whisky Producer: Johnnie Walker (Diageo)
