Kilchoman Machir Bay Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky, 70cl

Machir Bay is the flagship expression from Kilchoman, Islay's smallest and most westerly distillery, where barley is grown, malted, distilled, matured and bottled entirely on site at Rockside Farm. Peated to around 50ppm, the spirit is matured in a combination of first-fill and refill bourbon barrels from Buffalo Trace, with a portion finished in Oloroso sherry butts, then bottled at 46% ABV without chill-filtration or added colour.

The nose offers soft peat smoke, ash and citrus alongside freshly baked vanilla biscuit sweetness. On the palate, peat and ash mingle with ripe peach, pear and creamy vanilla, before a medium finish of salted caramel, drying smoke and a peppery citrus tang. A subtle, well-balanced Islay malt that showcases Kilchoman's farm-to-bottle philosophy.
