Kilkerran 12 Year Old Campbeltown Single Malt Scotch Whisky, 70cl

Kilkerran 12 Year Old is the core expression from Glengyle, the Campbeltown distillery that began distilling again in 2004 after its predecessor fell silent in 1925. Matured for twelve years in a mix of bourbon and sherry casks, it is a lighter, oily and balanced Campbeltown malt, bottled without chill-filtration or added colouring.

• Nose: Oak-led, with toasted marshmallows, dried fruit pudding, cherries and marzipan, plus a subtle hint of peat.
• Palate: Fruity at first with citrus and orange peel, followed by vanilla, butterscotch, honeycomb and digestive biscuits.
• Finish: Smooth and velvety with lemon meringue, ending in the oily, salty note typical of Campbeltown.
