Knob Creek 9 Year Old Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey is a full-flavoured, small-batch bourbon from the Jim Beam distillery in Clermont, Kentucky, produced under the Beam Suntory group. Named after the creek near Abraham Lincoln's boyhood home, Knob Creek was created to revive the bold, full-proof, pre-Prohibition style of bourbon-making. Each batch is aged a full nine years in new, charred American white oak barrels before bottling at a robust 50% ABV.
On the nose, expect toasted nuts, grain and oak alongside caramel sweetness. The palate is rich and full-bodied — sweet, woody and almost fruity, with dark chocolate, black pepper and charred oak. The finish is long, rich and glowing, closing with vanilla spice and nutty oak.
Built for sipping neat or on the rocks, and it forms the backbone of a superb Old Fashioned or Manhattan.
