Langlois-Château Crémant de Loire Brut Réserve is a dry, non-vintage sparkling wine from Saumur in the Loire Valley, made by the traditional method. Built on Chenin Blanc with Chardonnay and Cabernet Franc, it is aged for at least 24 months on its lees, which gives it more depth and finesse than many Crémants. A fresh, elegant sparkling wine with white blossom, orchard fruit and a crisp, lively finish.

About the producer

Langlois-Château was founded in 1885 in Saumur and is considered one of the Loire’s leading Crémant houses. The estate has been part of the Bollinger family since 1973. Its sparkling wines mature in the historic freestone cellars beneath Saumur, where the constant cool temperature suits the slow ageing of traditional method wines.

How it’s made

The blend is Chenin Blanc, Chardonnay and Cabernet Franc, drawn from several Loire terroirs around Saumur and enriched with reserve wine. After the second fermentation in bottle, the wine rests on its lees for a minimum of 24 months before disgorgement, building texture and a fine, persistent mousse.

Tasting notes

• Nose: White flowers such as lime blossom and hawthorn, with quince, peach and grapefruit.
• Palate: Delicate and vibrant, with crisp acidity, citrus, pear and a touch of pastry, and fine bubbles.
• Finish: Long and fresh.

How to enjoy it

Serve Langlois-Château Crémant de Loire Brut Réserve chilled, at around 8–10°C, in a tulip-shaped glass. It works well as an aperitif and goes nicely with oysters, goat’s cheese, smoked fish and light starters. It is also a sound, dry alternative to Champagne for celebrations.
