Mount Gay Black Barrel is a rum from Mount Gay Distillery, St Lucy, Barbados, the world's oldest surviving rum distillery. A double-cask blend of pot and column still rums matured for around seven years, then finished in heavily charred bourbon barrels for extra depth and a distinctive smoky sweetness.
Rich and complex on the palate, with layers of toasted oak, dark caramel and warm spice that reward slow sipping, while still shining in cocktails such as a rum and ginger ale or a daiquiri.
