This blend brings together aged pot and column still rums, married across three cask types: ex-American whiskey, ex-bourbon and ex-Cognac, giving the rum a distinctive layered depth.
Expect a nose of banana loaf and pineapple alongside darker notes of currants, vanilla and roasted nuts, leading into a creamy palate of vanilla, salted caramel, dried mango and clove-studded orange, before finishing with peaches, apricots and a gentle warmth of oak char and chilli spice.
Bottled at 43% ABV, Mount Gay recommends serving XO Triple Cask Blend simply, over a single large ice cube, to let the rum's layered character shine.
