Ogilvy Spirits produces Scotland's first potato vodka at Hatton of Ogilvy, a family-run farm in the East Sidlaw Hills of Angus, roughly twelve miles inland from the North Sea coast. The farm has been worked by the same family for four generations, growing the potatoes, cereals and grazing the cattle that surround the small on-site distillery.
The vodka is produced entirely at the farm, from growing the potatoes through to distillation in a traditional copper still and bottling, in small batches with full farm-to-bottle traceability. Made from potatoes rather than grain, it is naturally gluten-free.
The nose brings warm aromas of fresh apricot and citrus fruit, alongside green grass and walnut. On the palate it is smooth and warming, with a sweet, creamy character, fruity esters and a hint of toffee and green pasture. The finish is long and lush, closing with black pepper, earthy charcoal and a faint whisper of citrus.
A genuinely small-batch, single-estate vodka with more character than typical grain vodkas, Ogilvy Scottish Potato Vodka is smooth enough to drink neat and versatile enough for classic cocktails such as a martini.
