Old Git Gin, 50cl

Old Git Gin is a small-batch 41% ABV gin from the wine merchant Boutinot, sold in a 50cl bottle. It is juniper-led and refreshingly dry, with citrus freshness, summer berry richness and a smooth cardamom finish. The label’s grumpy character claims that nothing is made like it used to be, but this is a gin made along traditional lines, with a spirit that rewards a simple serve.

How it’s made

The base spirit is made from English sugar beet. It is then double distilled with its botanicals in 200-litre copper alembic stills by a master distiller. The botanicals include juniper, citrus peel, cardamom and summer berries, giving a traditional, juniper-forward profile that is lifted by fruit and spice.
