Outlaw Rum is distilled and bottled at Glass, Huntly, in Aberdeenshire, where a Caribbean rum — born in Trinidad — is brought to Scotland and given a distinctly Scottish finish. The rum is matured in hand-selected ex-whisky casks sourced from Speyside and Highland distilleries, layering the spirit's tropical character with the deep oak, sherry and spice notes those casks have absorbed over years of maturing single malt.
The result is a smooth, cask-aged rum with a nose of caramel, vanilla, toffee and a whisper of sherry, opening on the palate into silky caramel and honey with bright citrus and satsuma zest, before a long, indulgent finish of coconut, creamy butter, gentle baking spice and raisin. Each bottle carries its own cask number, and the label's handwritten script tells the story of two ancient spirits — rum and whisky — coming together to create something genuinely new.
