Oyster Bay Sauvignon Blanc is a current-release white sourced from vineyards across Marlborough's Wairau and Awatere Valleys on New Zealand's South Island, one of the world's most celebrated Sauvignon Blanc regions. The grapes are destemmed and pressed before a slow, temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel tanks, a technique designed to lock in the variety's vivid aromatics, and the wine is bottled young at 12% ABV to preserve that fresh, just-picked fruit character.
The nose is stunningly aromatic, all tropical fruit and bright citrus with an abundant, expressive bouquet. On the palate it delivers a real concentration of passionfruit and tropical fruit flavour, assertive and vibrant rather than shy, carried on the racy acidity Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc is famous for. The finish is refreshingly zesty, crisp and clean, leaving the mouth wanting another sip.
Oyster Bay is produced by the Delegat family, whose New Zealand winemaking roots stretch back to 1947, with the Oyster Bay label launched in 1991 to showcase the country's finest cool-climate sites. It has since grown into one of the best-selling New Zealand wine brands in the world, prized for consistently capturing the elegant, assertive character that put Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc on the map.
