Port Charlotte 10 Year Old Heavily Peated Islay Single Malt, 70cl

Port Charlotte 10 is a heavily peated Islay single malt from Bruichladdich, delivering sweet peat and maritime aromas of seaweed and rockpools alongside notes of shellfish and sea herbs, balanced by touches of citrus and tropical fruit. Bruichladdich introduced the Port Charlotte range in 2006 as a departure from its traditionally unpeated expressions.

• Nose: Toffee and vanilla fudge jump out before we dive into a bucket of singed raisins and smouldering peat bricks.
• Palate: A sweet creamy hit up front leads into lemon boiled sweets, black-pepper spice and a thick layer of peaty smoke.
• Finish: Menthol throat sweets and sweet smoke slowly fade to leave grilled apples and buttery pastry.
