Smirnoff No. 21 Red Label is triple-distilled from a blend of grains and filtered ten times through charcoal columns, a process built to strip away impurities and deliver a remarkably clean, smooth spirit. It's the recipe that put Smirnoff on the map, and remains the brand's flagship vodka — a versatile, no-fuss spirit built to work equally well neat, over ice or mixed into a classic cocktail.

The nose is clean and neutral, with a faint sweetness from the grain and barely a hint of harshness. The palate is smooth and light-bodied, with subtle notes of white pepper and cereal coming through before a crisp, clean finish that fades quickly and leaves little residual burn. It's a vodka built for mixability rather than sipping neat, and does that job with reliable consistency.

Smirnoff traces its roots back to 1864, when Pyotr Arsenievich Smirnov began distilling vodka in Moscow using a proprietary charcoal-filtration method. After the Russian Revolution, the recipe made its way to the West via the Smirnoff family and was eventually built into the world's best-selling vodka brand. No. 21 refers to the original recipe number, still used today, and the red label remains one of the most recognisable in the spirits world.
