St-Germain Elderflower Liqueur is a delicately floral French liqueur made from wild elderflowers, hand-picked once a year in the foothills of the French Alps and macerated within 48 hours of picking to preserve their fragrance. The blossoms are blended with a base of grape eau-de-vie and a touch of sugar.
On the nose it's clean and delicately fragrant, with integrated notes of peach, pear and grapefruit. The palate is lightly syrupy, balancing floral elderflower sweetness against assertive citric acidity and lemon zest, with hints of pear and passion fruit, finishing long with lingering elderflower, gooseberry and bright citrus.
Packaged in a striking Art Deco-style bottle, it's often nicknamed "bartender's ketchup" for how well it lifts other spirits. Serve well-chilled over ice, or mix into a classic St-Germain Spritz or Hugo Spritz.
