Suntory Yamazaki Distiller's Reserve Japanese Single Malt Whisky

The Yamazaki Distiller's Reserve is the entry point into Suntory's celebrated Yamazaki range, produced at Japan's oldest whisky distillery, founded in 1923 in the hills outside Kyoto. It is crafted with no age statement, allowing the distillers to draw on a broad palette of whiskies matured in American white oak, Spanish oak and rare Japanese Mizunara oak casks, blending them to showcase the distillery's signature house style.

The nose offers ripe strawberry and cherry alongside the distinctive incense-like sweetness of Mizunara oak. On the palate, raspberry and white peach unfold with a gentle touch of coconut, leading into a clean, sweet finish of vanilla with a light flourish of cinnamon spice. It's an elegant, fruit-forward single malt that works equally well neat, on ice, or in a classic highball – the preferred serve in Japan.
