Talisker Skye is the more approachable, no-age-statement member of the Talisker range, created to showcase the distillery's elemental character in a softer, more elegant style. Matured in a combination of refill casks and casks toasted rather than charred, it trades some of Talisker's trademark punch for a rounder, honeyed sweetness while still carrying unmistakable coastal DNA.
The nose opens with toffee and vanilla ice cream, gentle honey and a wisp of smoke drifting in behind. On the palate, toasted oak and honeyed sweetness meet fresh citrus, with bright lemon and lime cutting through savoury fennel seed. The finish is medium in length and pleasingly dry, leaving a last trace of pepper and smouldering peat smoke.
Founded in 1830 on the shores of Loch Harport, Talisker is the oldest working distillery on the Isle of Skye and one of Scotland's most celebrated single malts, long prized for its “made by the sea” maritime character. Skye takes its name from the island itself, offering newcomers and longtime fans alike an inviting route into the distillery's rugged, salt-tinged house style.
