Tanqueray No. Ten Gin, 70cl
Tanqueray No. Ten Gin, 70cl
Tanqueray No. Ten is the luxury end of the Tanqueray range, a small-batch gin distilled one pot at a time in a copper still nicknamed “Tiny Ten”. Unlike the standard Tanqueray recipe, No. Ten is built around whole fresh citrus fruits — grapefruit, orange and lime — macerated and distilled alongside chamomile flowers, juniper and other classic gin botanicals, resulting in a fresher, more vibrant style of London Dry gin.
The nose is perfumed and zesty, with tangy grapefruit peel, sweet orange and a faint creamy note of chamomile sitting over clean juniper. On the palate it's rounded and citrus-forward, with ripe orange and grapefruit mingling with warming juniper, a touch of cardamom and a delicate hint of Earl Grey tea. The finish is long, bright and zesty, with the citrus lingering pleasantly after the juniper fades.
Tanqueray has been distilling gin in London since 1830, and No. Ten — named after the specific still it's made in — was launched in 2000 to showcase just how far fresh citrus could take the category. It remains the only gin inducted into the San Francisco World Spirits Competition's Hall of Fame, and is a firm favourite behind cocktail bars worldwide for its clean, punchy citrus character.
