Taylor's First Estate Reserve Port
Taylor's First Estate Reserve Port
Taylor's First Estate Reserve Port takes its name from the company's first property purchase back in 1744, and is crafted in the youthful, vibrant ruby style favoured by the 18th-century Port shippers who founded the house. It's a blend of rich, full-bodied wines selected specifically for their depth and generous fruit character, aged for three to four years in oak vats and casks before blending to achieve a smooth, well-rounded finish.
The nose is potent and concentrated, packed with blackcurrant, plum and a touch of liquorice. On the palate it's luscious and full, with a firm tannic structure giving good grip beneath the ripe dark fruit. Taylor's describe it as the perfect introduction to their house style — intensely fruity, yet elegant and well balanced.
Bottled at 19% ABV in the traditional 75cl format, this award-winning reserve Port is an excellent match for rich cheeses such as Stilton or Roquefort, and equally at home after dinner on its own.
