Veuve Clicquot traces its style back to 1772 and to Madame Barbe-Nicole Clicquot, the "Grande Dame of Champagne", who took over the house after her husband's death and is credited with pioneering the riddling (remuage) process still used across the region today. Yellow Label remains the house's benchmark cuvée and one of the best-known champagnes in the world, instantly identifiable by its bright yellow foil.

The blend leans heavily on Pinot Noir for structure and backbone, with Meunier adding roundness and Chardonnay bringing freshness; a generous share of reserve wines gives it a fuller, more toasty character than many entry-level non-vintage champagnes. Expect brioche and orchard fruit on the nose, a structured palate of baked apple and citrus, and a long, slightly nutty finish.

Robust enough to pair with richer dishes than a typical Brut — roast chicken, sushi or hard cheeses all work well alongside it.
