Yangarra Estate Roussanne, McLaren Vale, Australia, 75cl

Yangarra Estate Vineyard is a certified organic and biodynamic producer in the Blewitt Springs sub-region of McLaren Vale, South Australia, farming old, dry-grown bush vines on sandy, ironstone-laced soils. This Roussanne comes from a single 1999-planted block and is fermented with wild yeast before months of maturation on skins in large ceramic eggs, building a wine of real texture and character.

The result is a restrained yet vibrant white with savoury, saline aromatics layered over stone fruit, orange zest, almond and mandarin citrus, finishing with a grippy, food-friendly phenolic edge. It rewards patience in the glass and pairs beautifully with roast poultry, pork, shellfish and washed-rind cheeses such as Brie or Comté.
